The World Famous Avendale Yoof BandIt all started about 5 years ago in an enthusiastic but rather tuneless way - but folk are patient and practice improves you and now YooF has a band of up to twenty instrumentalists. We love being involved with worship and to be able to use our talents in church and on Praise Nights. Our genre? Well pretty much anything - modern - ancient - modern take on an ancient, ancient take on modern, jazzy, sazzy, celtic and rock, but with piano, keyboard, sax, flute, clarinet, guitar, bass, picollo, cello, tin whistle, moothie....and oh yes ....ryan on the drums anything might happen. We made our first recording in 2007,"Hooked on Jesus", and completed Y2OOF "My Chains are Gone", in April 2009.Then there was the fun of the photo shoot involving Anne's new 'YooFmobil'yoof@live.co.uk is a good place to get in touch if you want us to play for you - or you want to come to one of our praise nights.....or perversely if you want to know where we are so you can avoid us. We'd love to hear from you, however, so get in touch. The main track on Hooked -the signature song that gets asked for everywhere- to our surprise turned out to be "Come Christians" or dumdididdledee as we prefer to call it.Our choice of tracks for the new album reflects the thoughtfullness and vision we have as young Christians determined to give our all for Jesus. "Jesus All for Jesus" reflects this - but click the links at the bottom of this page to get a feel of what we sound like. The notes on the album sleeve say it all .."We love to praise God and hope this album helps you praise him too."
